On December 20th, the 2025 Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Awards ceremony was held at the "2025 Mechanical Technology Innovation and Development Conference and Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Awards Conference" in Shanghai. The conference was hosted by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, a co-sponsor of the Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Awards. Academician Lin Zhongqin, Chairman of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society; Academician Guo Dongming, Chairman of the Supervisory Board; Luo Junjie, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation and Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award Management Committee; Vice Chairmen of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society Wang Guobiao, Wang Decheng, Academician You Zheng, Academician Deng Zongquan, Academician Yang Huayong, Academician Chen Xuedong, and Academician Huang Qingxue; Secretary-General Zhang Xijun; Supervisor Du Bing; Lu Daming, former Vice Chairman of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award Management Committee; Shi Qian, Member of the Party Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology; Xi Lifeng, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and other leaders, as well as over 600 academicians, experts, industry elites, young scholars, and enterprise representatives from the mechanical field attended the conference.
The conference consisted of six sessions. In the keynote speech session, Luo Junjie, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation, delivered a special report titled "Seizing the Momentum and Winning the Future – Breaking Through and Upgrading my country's Mechanical Industry." The report systematically reviewed the development trajectory of my country's mechanical industry, providing an in-depth analysis of its achievements, trends, experiences, and shortcomings. It also offered strategic thinking on the future direction and path of the mechanical industry, providing important guidance for the high-quality development of China's mechanical industry in a complex environment.
During the awards ceremony, Lu Daming, Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award Management Committee, presided over the ceremony. Luo Junjie, Vice President of the China Machinery Industry Federation and Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award Management Committee, read out the "Notice on Commending the Award-Winning Projects of the 2025 'Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award'." A total of 541 projects were awarded in 2025, including 5 special prizes, 49 first prizes, 232 second prizes, and 255 third prizes.
Some of the participating leaders and guests presented awards to representatives of the project units that received the special and first prizes of the 2025 "Mechanical Industry Science and Technology Award."
