At the meeting, representatives from 12 key enterprises in industries such as steel, non-ferrous metals, new materials, automobiles, machinery, shipbuilding, light industry, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, along with leaders from the China Machinery Industry Federation and the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, delivered presentations. They introduced their companies' production and operation situations and industry development trends, and offered suggestions on stabilizing economic operations, stimulating market potential, promoting technological breakthroughs, optimizing the development environment, and strengthening support for enterprises. Relevant departments and units of the ministry responded to the issues, requests, and suggestions raised during the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that my country's industrial sector is currently in a critical stage of transformation from being large to becoming strong, facing significant challenges and obstacles.  With the deepening impact of changes in the external environment and the increasing internal risks and challenges, maintaining the stable operation of the industrial economy is becoming more difficult. However, it is also important to recognize that my country's industrial economy has a solid foundation and strong resilience, possessing advantages such as a super-large market, a complete industrial system, and abundant talent resources. The long-term positive supporting conditions and fundamental trends remain unchanged. We must strengthen our confidence, confront the problems head-on, and effectively align our thinking and actions with the Party Central Committee's scientific assessment of the situation. We must firmly focus on promoting high-quality development as the primary task and advancing new industrialization as the key task, further enhancing our sense of responsibility and mission, and promoting the effective qualitative improvement and reasonable quantitative growth of the industrial economy, playing a crucial role in stabilizing the overall macroeconomic situation.

The meeting emphasized that 2026 is the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and stabilizing industrial economic growth is a crucial responsibility and a glorious mission. It is essential to scientifically understand and grasp the current situation facing the industrial economy, and to make every effort to consolidate the positive trend of stable industrial economic growth.  This includes thoroughly implementing the new round of work plans for stabilizing growth in ten key industries, leveraging the driving role of key industries and regions, adhering to the principle of striving for excellence and winning through quality, improving the supply capacity of high-quality industrial products, stimulating and boosting new consumer demand, coordinating the effective use of policies related to "two major projects" and "two new areas," and focusing on stabilizing effective investment in the manufacturing sector and stimulating the vitality of private investment.

The meeting emphasized that entrepreneurs should focus on their core businesses and accelerate high-quality development. Based on the "two overall situations" and with a focus on the "major national priorities," they should lead the industry in improving quality and efficiency while accelerating their own development, gaining a competitive advantage in domestic and international markets with high-quality products and services. They should deeply cultivate innovation and enhance core competitiveness. They should work diligently to improve basic research and original innovation capabilities, deeply rooted in fundamental principles and core technologies, and solidify the foundation of innovation. They should strengthen self-discipline and create a healthy ecosystem. They should actively participate in the formulation of industry rules and the construction of self-regulatory mechanisms, consciously resist excessive competition, promote win-win situations, protect the industry's development environment, and make greater contributions to accelerating new industrialization and building a strong manufacturing nation.
